Bobbin cases

Various bobbin cases available
Slight variations were made to bobbin cases throughout production history & I have tried some bobbin cases in-stock on other similar machines to find that they did not fit.
Many more in-stock than showing in pictures
Unfortunately like alot of parts listed here I do not have any labels for which they once belong & so through trial & error with old machines I offer up the part in question to see if it fits.

Shuttle's & bobbins
As you can see from the enlarged picture there are various sizes of shuttle - some 4 - 5 inches long. Most of the domestic machines were approximately an inch in length & the bobbins also varied - some had flat con-curved ends with a hole that slotted onto the bobbin winder & some had just a point that wound through pressure via a sprung clip... Some of the early shuttle bobbin cases did not utilise a tension spring - instead the end user had to thread their cotton or silk threads through the tiny holes in the shuttle case..(see the long shuttle in the picture? Can you see the tiny holes? - that's where.
I have a Singer shuttle machine of my own dating to 1892 & it works. I have used it to take up my curtains in my home... IF you ever come across 1 don't skip it - they are workhorses & you would be kicking your self if your computerised machine packs up & need to get a project finished.
I have many parts for the old machines so please get in touch if yours is missing parts I may well have an item in stock to help you get your beloved machine up & stitching again.
